THAILAND IS RANKED AMONG THE BEST "EMERGING ECONOMIES"
Thailand was ranked sixth among the world’s ‘best emerging economies’ in a survey conducted by U.S. News & World Report, a publication known for its annual rankings of American universities.
China Daily reported on Wednesday that the US media organisation surveyed more than 21,000 people on how they assessed 80 countries against criteria including economic influence, citizenship and quality of life.
To determine which countries had improved the most rapidly, analysts used a computer model to predict their future growth in gross domestic product and per capita purchasing power parity.
The top ranks were dominated by countries in Asia and the Middle East.
The top nine, in descending order, are the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, India, China, Japan, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Egypt.
